Speaking at a program in Solukhumbu this morning, Minister Kiranti, said the issue of change of guard in the government should not hinder all works related to the CA’s term extension. “But the Bhattarai-led government is surely going to get the majority in parliament even after November 20,” the minister added. In the context of ongoing feud in the UCPN (Maoist), Kiranti, who is close to party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, said the party establishment is ready to bid farewell to those wanting to break away from the party, but added that the party after a certain time would, anyway, take action against those indiscriminately airing views.
He also said the government is committed to returning the seized properties to their rightful owners, irrespective of the extent of opposition from the Baidya faction.
Asked about the Supreme Court stay order against implementation of the cabinet decision to grant amnesty to murder convict Maoist lawmaker Bal Krishna Dhungel, Minister Kiranti said the government would take an appropriate step after consulting the attorney general in the case.
