A meeting of the parliamentary committee on Tuesday decided to direct the government and the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers to step up the process for passing the Reconstruction Authority bill at the earliest.
Similarly, the committee has also directed the government to clarify whether the money released to the earthquake victims as immediate relief is part of the Rs 200,000 cash relief to be provided for construction of houses to each victims.
The committee has also decided to carry out field study to monitor the situation of relief distribution by the government in seven earthquake-affected districts. A team from the committee will visit Gorkha, Ramechhap, Sindhupalchowk, Kavre, Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur.
