KATHMANDU, OCT 18: The government has moved forward to expedite the process to construct the 171 MW Dudhkoshi-6 Hydropower Project, expediting the process to finalize the environmental impact assessment (EIA) of the project.
Issuing a public notice on Monday, the Ministry of Forest and Environment asked the stakeholders to submit the suggestions on the EIA within one week. The run of river type hydropower project is being developed by Sagarmatha Hydropower Pvt Ltd.
171-MW Dudhkoshi-6 Hydroelectricity Project to be built in Solu
The feasibility study of the project has already been completed. The project is proposed to be built in wards 2 and 3 of Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality, Solukhumbu. The project will have a design discharge of 52.6 cubic meters per second while it is estimated to produce 938.97 GWh of electricity.
Of the total capacity, the project is estimated to produce 657.15 GWh in the rainy season while 281.82 GWh will be produced in winter. It will use 10.76 hectares of land including 7.36 hectares of the Sagarmatha National Park.
