SURUNGA , June 25: Deputy Prime Minister CP Mainali on Saturday said that the government was moving ahead with a strategy to strengthen trade links equally with neighbouring India and China by opening all border points with both the neighbours.
Referring to the economic blockades imposed by India repeatedly under various pretext, Mainali said that Nepal and Nepali people had to face hardship due to such blockades.
"And the cause was our sole dependency on India for trade," he said, adding that so it was essential to strengthen trade links equally with both the neighbours.
On the contentious issue of demarcation of provincial boundaries, he said that the demand of Madhes-based political parties to create one or two provinces in Tarai-Madhes excluding hilly areas was mysterious.
Saying that there were challenges ahead to implement the constitution, he urged other political parties sitting in opposition including the main opposition Nepali Congress to join the government and help in the implementation of the constitution. RSS
