KATHMANDU, Sept 8: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has accused the government of forcing people not to speak about the Darchula Tuin (i.e. improvised cable crossing) incident even as a probe committee submitted its investigation report showing involvement of the Indian SSB personnel.

Addressing the parliamentary party meeting of the UML on Wednesday, Chairman Oli alleged that the ruling parties were remaining quiet on the Darchula Tuin incident even as it now proved that Jaya Singh Dhami fell into the Mahakali River after the Indian SSB personnel cut off the cable crossing while he was crossing the river.

“Although the report presented by the probe committee claims that Jay Singh Dhami fell into the river after the Indian SSB personnel cut off the cable crossing while he was crossing the river, the government is trying to stop the people from raising their voices. The government does not even want to talk on the issue,” he said. “The government is afraid of speaking for the cause of the country, people and the livelihoods of citizens. This will not work. Why were our citizens killed? Can't we even raise our voices for our fellow countrymen?”
