Govt fails to foil Adhikari's fast-unto-death

KATHMANDU, Sept 4: The government’s forceful bid to end couple Adhikari’s fast-unto-death has been unsuccessful. A team led by Krishna Hari Baskota, secretary at the Prime Minister’s office, had reached Bir Hospital Wednesday morning to foil their protest following the Supreme Court (SC)’s order.



We urged them to end their protest by informing them about the SC order, said secretary Baskota talking to Republica, “We read them out a 21-point press statement issued by the government.” [break]



The couple Nanda Prasad Adhikari and Gangamaya, the permanent inhabitants of Fujel, Gorkha, has been on fast-unto-death for over a month seeking justice for their son Krishna Prasad Adhikari who had been murdered during the insurgency.
