Govt decides to implement co-op probe committee report

KATHMANDU, Sept 19: The government has decided to implement the report of the "Parliamentary Inquiry Special Committee on Misuse of Savings of Financial Cooperatives Institutions, 2081".


The Council of Ministers held on Wednesday took a decision to enforce the report of the probe committee endorsed by the federal parliament, according to Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung.

"The government has decided to send the report to the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation; Finance Ministry and Home Ministry for its enforcement," Gurung said.


The "Report of the Parliamentary Inquiry Special Committee on Misuse of Savings of Financial Cooperatives Institutions, 2081" was submitted to the meeting of the House of Representatives on September 16. 


Chairman of the Committee, Surya Bahadur Thapa, presented the report in the House of Representatives and Speaker Devraj Ghimire directed the Parliament Secretariat to send it to the government for necessary action.


Meanwhile, the cabinet meeting also decided to implement the common resolution and policy commitments of the current government.
