KATHMANDU, March 23: Government on Monday has decided to enforce week-long nationwide lockdown to be effective from 6 am on Tuesday in order to contain the spread of COVID-19.
A meeting of high level government taskforce to prevent and control COVID-19 chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Ishwar Pokharel decided to this effect. The decision comes hours after a 19-year old student, who recently arrived in Kathmandu from France was tested positive to coronavirus.

During the lock down period, all the transportation services including air services will be suspended.
Vehicles of security forces, health institutions and other permitted vehicles will only be allowed.
