Govt decides  to continue subsidies on chemical fertilizers

KATHMANDU, March 20: The government has halted the decision made by the thematic committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development and has decided to continue the subsidy on chemical fertilizers.

KATHMANDU, March 20: The government has halted the decision made by the thematic committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development and has decided to continue the subsidy on chemical fertilizers.


A meeting of the Council of Ministers held this morning at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar, decided to keep the subsidy given to chemical fertilizers unchanged.

Government spokesperson and Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma said that after a detailed study about the subsidies on chemical fertilizers, the necessary decision was taken and a decision was taken to make the subsidies more systematic and scientific in the future.


Earlier, the Fertilizer Supply and Distribution Management Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development decided to reduce the subsidies on chemical fertilizers. After today's cabinet meeting, the subsidy and price of chemical fertilizers will remain unchanged.
