KATHMANDU, Jan 29: Amid rising number of Nepali job seekers falling stranded in foreign land, the government has cautioned outbound workers to go to foreign employment only after obtaining a work permit of the country concerned.

Issuing a public notice, the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security (MoLESS), has said the government authorities have been receiving complaints about a number of individuals falling in traps set by human traffickers who take the job seekers illegally to a number of countries of South Asia, Europe, America and Africa. “Lured by the fake offers for good jobs and high pay, many outbound workers are found ignoring the laws to travel foreign countries on a visit visa,” said Thaneshwor Bhusal, Deputy Spokesperson of the MoLESS.

According to Bhusal, a number of complaints have been lodged against education consultancies, travel agencies and other licensed companies on the charge of being involved in human trafficking.
