Govt begins administering COVID-19 vaccine to +2 students older than 18 years

Those who are 40 years or above can also receive the shots

KATHMANDU, August 20: The government has begun administering the first shot of Vero Cell vaccine against COVID-19 to students of grade XII who are 18 years or above in Kathmandu from Friday.

According to Dr Jhalak Sharma Gautam, chief of the Child Health and Immunization Section of the Department of Health Services, the vaccine is being administered to students of +2 levels who are 18 years or above. Those who are 40 years or above can also receive their first dose.

The vaccine can be received at the Armed Police Force Hospital, Balambu, Birendra Sainik Hospital, Radha Swami Isolation Center, Nepal Police Hospital, Bir Hospital, Civil Hospital, Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital, Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj and all 32 ward offices and vaccine centers of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

The vaccination drive will be conducted for three days from today.
