KATHMANDU, Jan 28: An agreement has been signed between the government and the Nepal Agricultural Cooperative Central Federation Ltd (NACCFL) for the capacity building of 100 cooperatives in eight districts of Karnali (Salyan, Jajarkot, Jumla, Dailekh, Kalikot, West Rukum, Surkhet and Mugu).
The agreement was reached on Friday to develop the capacity of cooperatives in 10 districts of Karnali Province and to incorporate individual and institutional institutions by NACCFL through the Agriculture Sector Development Program (ASDP) run by the Government of Nepal. Through this program which will run for three years, NACCFL will help to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals of Nepal by reducing the poor and nutritional insecurity in the hilly and high hilly areas of Karnali.
Chandragiri Municipality to enhance cooperatives' capacity
Through this program, NACCFL will build a capable organization by assisting in the areas of institutional capacity development, raising the awareness of the members, and personal literacy while Small Farmer Development Microfinance Financial Institute Ltd (SKBBL) will provide financial assistance.
Similarly, after the organization and its members become competent, the work of disbursement of loans required for running the business will be done by SKBBL.
The agreement has been signed by Rudra Bhattarai, General Manager of NACCFL and Bhojraj Sapkota on behalf of the project.
