KATHMANDU, June 7: The government has approved an investment worth Rs 25.92 billion to build two hydropower projects.
The 51st meeting of the Investment Board Nepal (IBN) held on Monday, gave the go ahead to Rs 16.45 billion Tamakoshi-5 to be constructed in Dolakha. The hydropower plant will have a production capacity of 99.8 MW of electricity.
Similarly, the IBN also approved an investment of Rs 9.47 billion for the construction of 40 MW Rahughat Hydropower Project located in Myagdi district. Extending the deadline, the government body also asked GMR-Upper Karnali Hydropower Company to conduct a financial closure to construct the 900 MW Upper Karnali Hydropower Project within the next 24 months.
