KATHMANDU, May 29: The government has allocated Rs 70 billion for the construction of transmission lines and substations in the upcoming fiscal year 2026/27.
Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle made the announcement while presenting the national budget on Friday, stating that key transmission infrastructure projects will be prioritized to strengthen the national power grid.

He said the Hetauda–Dhalkebar transmission line will be completed in the coming fiscal year as part of the ongoing infrastructure expansion.
The budget also emphasizes the expansion of cross-border transmission lines, aiming to enhance electricity trade and regional energy connectivity.
