Government to investigate audio scandal of Baskota: NCP leader Gurung

KATHMANDU, Feb 22: Chief whip of the ruling Nepal Communist Party Dev Gurung has said that Nepal government is likely to investigate an audio scandal involving former Communication Minister Gokul Baskota in the procurement of the security printing for the government from a Swiss company.

KATHMANDU, Feb 22: Chief whip of the ruling Nepal Communist Party Dev Gurung has said that Nepal government is likely to investigate an audio scandal involving former Communication Minister Gokul Baskota in the procurement of the security printing for the government from a Swiss company.


At an interaction program on Saturday, Gurung said that not only the audio scam but the entire security printing deal has dragged into controversy.

He further said that the investigation on the both the issues is under way in the Public Accounts Committee of the Parliament. “CIAA will investigate the alleged involvement of the minister in connection to the security printing deal,” he added.


Likewise, on different note he asserted that the committee formed to study MCC by the NCP central committee has already submitted its report to the government suggesting to pass the MCC only after making necessary amendments. “Now, it is up to the government to take final decision on the controversial MCC,” he added.


Similarly, chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Prakash Chandra Lohani has sought a serious investigation on the audio scam of former Minister Baskota.


He also urged the PM to resign on moral grounds.
