Government's attention drawn to Covid-19 prevention measures

KATHMANDU, March 2: The House of Representatives (HoR) members in today's session drew the government attention towards the prevention of Nepali citizens from the possible risk of coronavirus infection.

KATHMANDU, March 2: The House of Representatives (HoR) members in today's session drew the government attention towards the prevention of Nepali citizens from the possible risk of coronavirus infection.


Anjana Bisunkhe, Atharkamal Musalman, Ekwal Miya, Kalila Khatun, Tulasa Thapa, Krishna Bhakta Pokhrel, Khagaraj Adhikari, Ganga Chaudhary, Chhakka Bahadur Lama, Jip Chhiring Lama, Jeevan Ram Shrestha and Juli Kumari Mahato, airing their views in a zero session, urged the government for taking high alert to remain safe from the virus infection.

The virus officially named as the 'Covid-19' by the World Health Organisation has so far spread to 64 countries in the world following its emergence at Wuhan of Hubei province in China. The virus has so far killed 3,000 people mostly in China and predominately in its epicentre in Wuhan of China. Around 86,000 people have been infected.


The WHO has already identified Nepal as one of the most vulnerable zones in view of virus infection. Similarly, the meeting unanimously endorsed a proposal, tabled seeking consideration on the ' Nepal Rastra Bank (third amendment) Bill, 2076 BS.' Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota presented the proposal.
