POKHARA, Oct 14: Gandaki Province Governor Baburam Kunwar has certified the ‘Bill on Establishment, Management and Operation of Gandaki University’ on Monday.
With this, Gandaki province now can proceed ahead to setting up proposed Gandaki University.

Earlier, the bill was endorsed by the provincial assembly on September 25. Later on, it was presented to the Office of the Province Chief for certification.
According to the Sub-article 2 of Article 201 of the Constitution of Nepal, there is a provision that the governor should inform the provincial assembly at the earliest after certification. Based on the Sub-article 5 of the same article, the bill becomes law after its verification.
According to Section Officer at the Governor’s Office Suran Prasad Sharma Poudel, a copy of bill has been kept at the governor’s office while a copy each was also sent to the Office of Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, Secretariat of Provincial Assembly, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law and Federal Ministry for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
