KATHMANDU, May 31: President Ram Chandra Paudel has certified the Citizenship Amendment Bill. President Paudel certified the bill on Wednesday, according to the Office of President.

The decision of President Paudel to certify the bill comes shortly after Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who is leaving the country on a four-day official visit to India today, held a meeting with him. Sources said Prime Minister Dahal had urged President Paudel to certify the bill, although the meeting was said to have been held to inform President Paudel about his India visit.
