Good food to fit your budget

Fuse-On Pizza Hub and Café, located in Kamalpokhari about 40 meters ahead of City Center, serves really good pizzas and more. Even if you already have a go-to place for pizza, I recommend you give this place a try because who doesn’t need and deserve a change of scene?

Fuse-On Pizza Hub and Café, located in Kamalpokhari about 40 meters ahead of City Center, serves really good pizzas and more. Even if you already have a go-to place for pizza, I recommend you give this place a try because who doesn’t need and deserve a change of scene?

They say a good first impression is important and Fuse-On Pizza Hub and Café has kept that in mind. As I was making my way up the stairs to the restaurant, I found myself reading and enjoying some fun quotes, beautifully framed, along the way. The quotes, on food, made me my stomach grumble too. Extra points to the team for being so smart here.

At the restaurant I met Sudeep Ghimire who told me that since there weren’t many pizza places within a 500-meter radius in the area, he felt it would be a good business opportunity. His plan was to make the restaurant, that launched this year, a place where students could come to enjoy great pizza and other food at affordable rates.

“Most pizza places around town are really good but they are pricey,” says Ghimire adding that keeping the price affordable was one of the priorities of the Fuse-On Pizza Hub and Café team. But that doesn’t mean they have compromised on the quality, far from it. Everything I tried was perfectly made and there were quite a few choices as well.

The restaurant serves everything from refreshers and smoothies to a wide array of starters and even pasta, apart from pizza. They have also paid a lot of attention to crafting the menu. It has all the information you might need about the food available there and you can see what all ingredients go into a particular dish.

The good thing about Fuse-On Pizza Hub and Café is that, apart from affordable good food, the place also puts you at ease as it feels airy and vibrant. You can take great Instagram pictures as you wait for your order to get to your table. The staffs are also friendly and courteous which doesn’t seem to be the norm anymore. All in all, a great place if you want to hangout with friends and not create a dent in your monthly budget.

This is a regular dish that has slices of chicken tossed with the perfect blend of Chinese and Indian spices. The chicken in juicy and feels well marinated and cooked. It comes with a good portion of salad on the side. I also thought it was very well presented – the colors of carrot and beet make it look very appealing.

BBQ Chicken Lover Pizza

Price: Rs 650

Rating: 4.5 out of 5

I tried the spicy version of the pizza and it was good, really good. And the smell was oh-so-heavenly. With a generous serving of chicken keema, BBQ marinated diced chicken, and sausages, this pizza is sure to delight meat lovers. The crust was thin and baked to perfection. If you don’t want your pizza to be spicy, just ask and they will customize it to suit your taste. But you really have to try this pizza.

Brownie with Ice Cream

Price: Rs 300

Rating: 4 out of 5

Brownie topped with vanilla ice cream that was again topped with a waffle, what more could one ask for? There was also a generous heaping of sprinkles and chocolate and strawberry syrup. The dish was artistically presented and tasted even better than it looked. The brownie was soft and squishy, just the way I liked it and the crunchy waffle complemented it perfectly. If you have a sweet tooth, you can’t go wrong by ordering this dessert to finish off your meal.

Purple Rain

Price: Rs 200

Rating: 3.5 out of 5

A mix of Curacao and Grenadine gives this drink a vibrant purple tint as well as a very unique taste that’s sweet and bitter at the same time. If this refresher were a person then it would be a mean one with a charmingly sweet smile. When viewed from above, the drink looked like icebergs floating on a purple sea. There is also a dash of sprite in this drink and that makes it very refreshing.

Blue Lagoon

Price: Rs 190

Rating: 3.5 out of 5

Blue Lagoon is a mixture of Curacao syrup with lemon and sprite. It tastes sweet and is minty too. You might want to order this instead of the Purple Rain if you don’t like your drinks to be on the slightly bitter/sour side. The drink is refreshing with just the right flavors and I was actually tempted to ask for a refill. It really was that good.
