Goma Air plane crashes in Jufal Airport

KATHMANDU, Dec 2: A Goma Air aircraft crashed at Jufal Airport in Dolpa on Sunday morning.



The 9N AJU aircraft met with an accident at around 10 am today as one of its tyres exploded while landing at the airport, Nagaendra Bhattarai, a Goma Air captain informed. [break]



Except the two crew members, Sanjiv Shrestha and Prajjwal Bhattarai, no passengers were in the Cessna 208B single-engine aircraft which was carrying cargo from Nepalgunj. There was a minor damage to the aircraft in the incident.



According to Bhattarai, a group of engineers of the Goma Air has already left for Dolpa to carry out repair works of the damaged aircraft. He added that all flight operations at the airport have temporarily been closed as the aircraft is still on the runway.
