Gold prices continue to break records daily post-Dashain festival

KATHMANDU, Oct 19: Gold prices have set new records with each passing day this week following the Dashain festival. The prices, which have been on the rise for some time, reached new heights on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, the most recent trading day. According to analysts, the conflicts observed in the international markets, along with the strengthening of the exchange rate of the US dollar, have contributed to the new record prices of gold.

KATHMANDU, Oct 19: Gold prices have set new records with each passing day this week following the Dashain festival. The prices, which have been on the rise for some time, reached new heights on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, the most recent trading day. According to analysts, the conflicts observed in the international markets, along with the strengthening of the exchange rate of the US dollar, have contributed to the new record prices of gold.


In the domestic market, gold prices also reached a new high this week. The first two days were holidays for Dashain, resulting in no transactions. On the third day of the week, Tuesday, the price of gold was Rs 160,500 per tola. By Wednesday, it had surged to Rs 161,800 per tola, and on Thursday, it reached Rs 162,400 per tola. On Friday, it further escalated to Rs 164,400 per tola, marking an increase of Rs 3,900 per tola compared to Tuesday.

The price of silver also experienced a slight rise in the domestic market this week. On Tuesday, the price was Rs 1,925 per tola, which climbed to Rs 1,980 per tola by the end of the week on Friday.
