KATHMANDU, Aug 16: The price of gold in the domestic market slid Rs 3,200 per tola (11.6638 grams) last week, due to the pacified bullion price on the international market.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA), the price went into a downturn throughout the period after reaching the record high price of 199,400 per tola in the previous week. The gold price stood at Rs 196,200 per tola on Friday.

As per international media, the gold price was impacted by the soaring inflation data in the US market along with the talks between US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin scheduled in Alaska of the USA. “As the market focus shifted to the talks between two presidents, the non-yielding gold prices declined,” reads the media.
Meanwhile, the price of silver declined Rs 10 per tola during the review period. The records with the FENEGOSIDA show that the silver price came down to Rs 2,315 per tola from Rs 2,325.
