Gold entrepreneurs demand resumption of gold supply

KATHMANDU, June 23: Gold entrepreneurs have demanded resumption of gold supply which has been closed since April 29.


The Federation of Nepal Gold Silver Gem and Jewellery Associations has demanded resumption of gold supply and distribution.

Stating that the supply of gold sold by commercial banks has also stopped as trade, business and other sectors have been closed after the prohibitory order was announced to contain the spread of COVID-19, the federation has also demanded to open businesses relating to gold, silver and jewelry as per the new schedule prepared by the government.


The federation has requested the Nepal Rastra Bank to make immediate arrangements for the sale of 30 kg of gold a day considering the fact the gold was not sold in the past few months and major festivals in Nepal are fast approaching.
