KATHMANDU, Nov 9: The prices of gold and silver saw fluctuations in the domestic market of Nepal this week following the results of the U.S. presidential election. Analysts claim that the record-high exchange rate of the U.S. dollar and the impact of the lowering of the Federal Reserve interest rates also influenced the price of gold.
The price of gold was not published on Sunday and Monday due to the Tihar festival. On Tuesday, the price of gold reached Rs 168,200 per tola (11.66 grams). On the fourth day, Wednesday, the price increased to Rs 168,500 per tola.
Gold and silver prices remain steady
However, on Thursday, the price dipped by Rs 4000 to Rs 164,500 per tola. However, on the last trading day of the week on Friday, the price rose again to Rs 166,500 per tola. Compared to the first trading day of the week, the price was less by Rs 1,700 per tola on Friday.
This week, the price of silver also decreased slightly in the domestic market. On the third day of the week, Tuesday, the price reached Rs 2,030 per tola, while on the last trading day of the week, Friday, the price settled at Rs 1,980 per tola.
