KATHMANDU, Dec 25: Danfe inaugurated its outlet in Jhamsikhel, Lalitpur on Friday. The shop focuses on concept of promoting Nepali made goods for both local and international market with the idea of ‘Go local , get local’.
Danfe was initiated in July 2015 with 5 girls now has more than 30 girls. All the beneficiaries were selected from Sindhupalchowk, Kavre and Makwanpur districts and are mostly school drop-outs and some have never attended schools. They were given advanced tailoring training for 10 months.
Danfe is a livelihood and entrepreneurship program of SAATH, a local NGO, in response to earthquake that took place on April 25, 2015. The shop has tot bags, canvas bags, coats, outers, dresses and hoodies and t-shirts for both men and women and kids wear.
