Global IME, Korean bank in remittance tie up

KATHMANDU, Jan 10: Nepali migrant workers in South Korea can now send their earning to home by using their cell phones. According to a statement issued by Global IME Bank, Nepalis can send money to their Global IME account in Nepal by using 'Smart Banking Apps' of Industrial Bank of Korea.

"The coordination between the two banks will provide hassle-free service to migrant workers. They can also enjoy 30 percent discount in exchange rates and 50 percent waiver on remittance fee," the statement said, adding that Nepalis can open account in Global IME Bank by contacting the bank's representative in South Korea. But Nepalis need to have an account in Industrial Bank of Korea to enjoy the facility, according to the statement.
