Global Entrepreneurship Week starts<br/>Philips Electro-Tech Expo in Dec

KATHMANDU, Nov 16: Alternatives, Nepal Youth Entrepreneurs Federation (NYEF)-Pokhara, BIG FM and Development Voyage are jointly organizing various programs on the occasion of the Global Entrepreneurship Week-2009. [break]



In a joint statement issued Monday, the organizers said the Week, celebrated between November 16 to November 22 by organizations all over the world working to spur the youth and entrepreneurship, aims to play an important role in the development of entrepreneurship around the world.



“The need of the day is to take youths as the engines of entrepreneurship development. Our country, which is suffering from youth unemployment and poverty, should take the week as an opportunity for the development of entrepreneurship and creating awareness,” the statement said.



According to the organizers, various programs targeted especially at developing the spirit of entrepreneurship among the youth will be organized in 60 countries. Three million people from 100 countries participated in the 25,000 programs held during the week last year, statement said.



Programs to be held here include youth entrepreneurship development training, interactions, and radio programs like a feature program called ´Seven Days Seven Heroes´. The organizers will hold an Entrepreneur Education Campaign at the local Bal Mandir School on Tuesday and an interaction on a story of entrepreneur on Thursday.





Philips Electro-Tech Expo in Dec



KATHMANDU, Nov 16: Nepal Electrical Association is organizing Philips Electro-Tech 2009, a five-day event that aims to reduce energy consumption by displaying varied electronic and energy equipment. The event will start from December 1.



The event, with the slogan of ´Save Energy-Preserve Environment´, Philips Electro-Tech 2009, aims to contribute towards saving energy by showcasing varied electronic and energy equipment manufactured by different national and international companies.



The exhibition will feature electronic and energy equipment such as transmissions and distribution equipments, house-wiring equipment, cables and conductors, CFL bulbs, lighting fixtures and other household and official electronic equipment. Computer technology, electric vehicles, hydropower equipment and alternative energy equipment are other attractions of the event.



Products from Nepal, China, India, Japan, France, Korea, Malaysia and Germany will be showcased in the event. According to the organizers, the event will feature 162 stalls of 60 local and international brands. The organizers are expecting about 25,000 visitors.
