Action for Nation organized one day self defense training at Uniglobe SS/College, Kamaladi. The training was held in the presence of Silvio Simac, a Hollywood actor, taekwondo instructor and fitness coach as the main guest.
Master Giri Bahadur Sunar, the pioneer of girls and women self-defense instruction in Nepal, had shared the platform with Simac. Since 1998, Master Sunar has been teaching girls’ self-defense in Nepal. In Nepal, he performed over a hundred training sessions in various locations.

According to a press statement released by Action for Nepal, the Self-Defense program aimed at minimizing the rising number of cases of gender-based violence in Nepal. Self-defense training aims to promote girls' and women's confidence while also improving their physical and emotional health. Mental awareness is more vital and effective than physical self-defense; the training program concentrated more on psychological empowerment of girls than physical self-defense.
A total of 100 girls took part in the training session. The majority of the participants were professionally air hostages, students from government and private schools, and private businesses firms.
In the training, Master Sunar taught awareness self-defense, verbal self-defense, false surrender self-defense, and legal self-defense, while Master Silvio taught physical self-defense in tandem with Master Sunar.
During the training, participants learned how to raise the issue of any abuse, how to respond quickly, how to file a complaint with the local level or the police, and even how to retaliate physically.
Master Silvio remarked that the training would be critical in the creation of a society free of violence, and that such training would necessitate further efforts to boost the ladies' self-esteem. "I am thrilled to be in Nepal's Himalayan nation, and it is an honor to share a self-defense stage with Master Giri Bahadur Sunar." Master Sunar had conducted extensive study on girls’ self-defense training and was proud of his psychological empowering ability to girls and women. "Nepal is a great country with lovely people who are kind and friendly."
