Nepal is the third largest ginger producer after India and China. In fiscal year 2015/16, ginger was farmed in 21,869 hectares of land, on which a total of 246,630 metric tons of ginger were produced. In the same fiscal year, 477.48 million worth of ginger was exported to different countries from Nepal.
