Gautam urged to contest polls from Pyuthan

PYUTHAN, June 22: Locals have requested senior leader and vice chairman of CPN-UML Bamdev Gautam to file his candidacy for the upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) polls from his home district Pyuthan. [break]



Secretary of the publicity department of the party Surya Thapa said, “Locals of Pyuthan want Gautam to file his candidacy in upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) polls.” Thapa also claimed that 687 locals joined the party on Saturday. “Almost 1,500 locals have joined the party after the first CA election,” he said.



Speaking at the same function, former CA member and central member of CPN-UML Netra Bahadur Rokay said that people of his party want UML elected in the next election. “Locals know that only the CPN-UML can address their demands,” he said.



CPN (UML) has launched a month-long peoples´ mobilization campaign from June 18. “We have launched this campaign to make the locals aware of our election agenda. We are confident that the locals of Pyuthan would vote our party in the upcoming CA election,” said a local CPN-UML leader Gokul Gharti.
