Gaur Customs Office collects Rs 140 million in revenue in six months

The Gaur Customs Office successfully collected 85 percent of its revenue target for the first six months of the fiscal year 2024/25.

CHANDRAPUR (Rautahat), Jan 26: The Gaur Customs Office successfully collected 85 percent of its revenue target for the first six months of the fiscal year 2024/25.


The office collected Rs 146.75 million in revenue from July to December, according to Acting Chief Amendra Singh. While the Department of Customs set a target of Rs 354.37 million for the fiscal year 2024/25, the office managed to achieve Rs 146.75 million by the end of December, which is 85 percent of the target for this period, Singh stated.

According to Customs Chief Singh, December recorded the highest revenue collection of Rs 34.71 million during this six-month period, exceeding the monthly target by 17 percent. The Gaur Customs Office is working diligently to meet the annual target set by the department.


Meanwhile, Rautahat Police seized goods worth Rs 24.27 million which was being smuggled through the border area and handed them over to the Gaur Customs Office, informed Rautahat Police Chief Dilip Ghimire. During this period, the police apprehended 66 individuals involved in smuggling, along with 108 motorcycles, two pickup vans, two Scorpio vehicles, 14 bicycles, and four city rickshaws, all of which were handed over to the customs office.


Additionally, the District Traffic Police Office collected Rs 6.82 million in revenue during the same period, Superintendent Ghimire stated.
