KATHMANDU, Aug 24: A police constable has been arrested for allegedly recording and releasing a video of a teenage suspect’s interrogation in the rape and murder case of Garima Chaudhary in Bara.
The sensitive video, reportedly filmed inside the interrogation room, went viral on social media. Police constable Kumar was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.

According to Bara District Police Office Superintendent of Police Narendra Kunwar, preparations are underway to initiate criminal proceedings against the arrested constable.
Police launched an internal investigation after the video was circulated publicly. The investigation indicated that the footage may have been released by the same police officer who recorded it, leading to his arrest.
Meanwhile, five other police personnel were also present inside the interrogation room when the video was recorded. Police said they are also being investigated over the incident.
