KATHMANDU, Nov 12: Economist Dr Swarnim Wagle has claimed that Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa will become the Prime Minister after the upcoming House of Representatives and provincial assemblies elections.
Economist Wagle, who is close to the NC and engaged in election campaigning, repeatedly reiterated that Thapa is capable and ready to become the country's prime minister. Speaking at an event in Kathmandu Constituency No 4 on Saturday, Dr Wagle also called on the local voters to support Thapa to become the Prime Minister.
Economist Wagle also revealed that Thapa has created the image of a politician during the COVID-19 pandemic and also expressed his belief that if he can be promoted and made the prime minister, there will be a big change in the country within 10 years. Wagle said that Thapa, who was the health minister for seven months, laid the foundation of the integrated health policy in the country and if this is implemented effectively, every citizen will get health treatment through insurance.
Economist Wagle said that respecting the contribution of the leaders of the old generation, everything should be done to move the country forward with the new leadership at present.
