Addressing a press meet in Kathmandu on Friday, Gachchhadar said, "The credit for the deal does not go solely to Upendra Yadav because I played important role in making it possible. He also claimed that the agreement to form a 585-member CA with 58 percent PR seats and 42 percent FPTP seats was part of the agenda of the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF). [break]
When asked about constituency delineation, he said, "Constituency delineation on the basis of population in Madhes could not give a solution as the cause of Madhes could only be safeguarded through the Constituent Assembly (CA) polls." He added that November polls should not be disrupted over the constituency delineation disputes.
On the occasion, Gachchhadar welcomed JP Gupta-led Tarai-Madhes National Campaign spokesperson Rajeev Jha in his party. Jha said Gachhadar is a dynamic leader so he joined the party.
General Secretary of the party Jitendra Dev said J P Gupta has become irrelevant. "Both him and his campaign are irrelevant as the country is geared up for the polls," he said, adding, "People want meaningful CA polls and not an anti election campaign.
Annapurna Rajya Laxmi Devi Singh, social activist and Mahato-led Sadbhavana Party leader Rameshwar Raut also joined the party.
