Receiving a memorandum submitted by different agitating student unions at his own office, Singha Durbar, today, Chairman Regmi assured the student Unions that the Ministry of Education would make necessary coordination immediately on declaring the date of the election of FSU.[break]
President of the Nepal Students Union, UP Lamichhane told media persons that Regmi made positive response on the 11-point demands including FSU election put forth by the student unions.
The student unions said that they drew the attention of the government as election of the FSU could not be held since four years ago and added that they would bring further programs of agitation if their demands were not addressed.
The student unions have put forth 11-point demands including withdrawal of nine per cent fare hike made on the public transportation, arrangement of 45 per cent discount to students on transport services and implementation of agreement reached between the previous government and student organizations.
