JUMLA, Feb 21: Four percent children of school going age are outside school in Jumla, said a report prepared by the District Education Office (DEO).

Likewise, eight percent children drop out of school midway, said a working paper presented at a program organised by the DEO with the theme 'Enrolment campaign and its relevancy' in the district.

At the event, District Education Officer Kul Bahadur Phadera said most of the children remaining off school are differently-abled and from impoverished and marginalised background.

In a bid to accommodate all children in the district within the reach of school, he, however, informed that a campaign entitled 'Safe and inclusive educational institution is our slogan, unite all for enrollment campaign' has been launched in the district.

There are a total of 39,000 children studying in primary to higher secondary levels in community schools in the district, according to available data. RSS
