Two guests, who were also inside the house when the landslide occurred, however, survived.
Police rescued Ramesh´s mother-in-law Kamala Timilsena, 45, of Pangretar-4 and her seven-year-old grandson Saroj. Kamala had arrived at Lampate on Tuesday along with Saroj to pay a visit to her son-in-law.
Saroj is receiving treatment at Sadabahar Hospital in Khadichowr, while Kamala has been taken to Dhulikhel Hospital. Kamala is in a critical condition, the police said.
All the six were asleep when landslide struck, giving them very little time to respond. The landmass that fell from 150 meters above the house was deposited on the Araniko Highway nearly a kilometer below.
Ramesh´s wife survived the entire tragedy as she was not at home Wednesday night as she had been receiving treatment at Dhulikhel Hospital.
A landslide had struck the same location 12 years ago, according to locals.
