Four of a family die in Gulmi landslide (with photos)

GULMI, August 1: Four members of a family died when a house was buried by a landslide at Aatipata of Ruru Kshetra Rural Municipality-5 in Gulmi district on Friday night.

GULMI, August 1: Four members of a family died when a house was buried by a landslide at Aatipata of Ruru Kshetra Rural Municipality-5 in Gulmi district on Friday night.


The landslide triggered by incessant rainfall since Friday evening buried the house of local Raju Bote Majhi. The landslide with large boulders buried their house when the family members were sleeping in their home.

The deceased have been identified as Majhi’s wife Bina Bote Majhi, 30, their two sons—Hemant, 10, and Sagar, 7,-- and a 10-month-old daughter Binita, according to Ward Chairman Hari Prasad Gyawali. Raju is away from his home for foreign employment.


Local people recovered the dead bodies from the landslide debris.
