KATHMANDU, April 7: Four ministers in the KP Oli-led cabinet are losing their ministerial positions today.

House Speaker Agni Sapkota is scheduled to read out the notice that they are no longer the members of the parliament during the parliament meeting today. The House meeting has started from 1 pm.

The Parliamentary Party of the CPN (Maoist Center) has already sent notice to the parliament secretariat that the party had decided to suspend the membership of Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Lekhraj Bhatta, Gauri Shanker Chaudhary and Prabhu Shah. The issue was discussed during the parliament’s Business Advisory Committee meeting held earlier today.

While Rayamajhi is serving as Minister for Energy, Bhatta is Minister for Industry in the Oli-led cabinet. Similarly, Chaudhary and Shah are serving as Minister for Labor and Minister for Urban Development, respectively.

These Maoist leaders had chosen to be part of the Oli-led faction when the intra-party rift between Oli and Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal reached its peak earlier this year. All four ministers will no longer be able to continue to hold the ministerial position after they lose the membership of the party.
