Four injured in landslides

BAGLUNG, Sept 3: Landslides triggered by incessant rainfall at various places buried 11 houses and injured four persons in Baglung on Monday night.

Four people were injured at Devisthan-1, Harpe after landside buried the house of Devi Gurung.



Along with Gurung, her daughter Bimala, son-in-law Jeetman, and son Tejendra were injured in the incident. Bimala and Tejendra, who are said to be critically injured, have been sent to Palpa Hospital for treatment.[break]



According to District Police Office, landslides have been reported in VDCs including Boban, Taman, Khunga, Bungadobhan and Jwalichaur.

“Eleven houses at various VDCs have been buried in the landslides,” informed Deputy Superintendent of Police Surendra Bahadur Gurung. “Properties worth millions have been destroyed but no human causalities have been reported.”



Houses of Gyamalal Bhandari and Tirthe Bhandari, Rana Bahadur, BK Ruplal BK, Rama Sunur, Aite BK and Serbang BK at Bobang have been buried in the landslide.



Landslide also partly damaged some houses at Taman-6.

Some 20 families of Taman VDC have been taking shelter at a local Dhanagau Jyoti Secondary School. The details of the loss caused by the landslides are yet to be ascertained. Landslide has also damaged Labdikhola Hydropower Project´s dam.
