KALIKOT, Aug. 10: Four people were injured after an auto rickshaw crashed into a roadside wall in Kalikot on Monday. Two of the injured are in critical condition, according to police.
The accident occurred along the Surkhet-Jumla road section in Pili, Khandachakra Municipality-7, when the vehicle reportedly crashed after its brakes failed.

According to the District Police Office, Kalikot, the auto with the registration number Karnali Province 02-001 Ha 1194, was traveling from Pili toward Manma when the brakes suddenly failed, causing it to crash into the roadside wall.
Mangal Shahi, 35, and Sabina Shahi, 25, both from Gela, Mahawai Rural Municipality-5, sustained serious injuries. Police said they suffered injuries to various parts of their bodies.
Similarly, Pratima Acharya, 26, of Mahawai Rural Municipality-6, and Kul Prasad Bhattarai, 29, of Ward No. 5, sustained moderate injuries.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Him Bahadur Khatri of the District Police Office, Kalikot, said the auto driver, Krishna Bahadur Malla, 47, of Pili, Khandachakra Municipality-7, was uninjured and is in police custody.
