KAPILVASTU, Oct 31: Four houses were gutted by fire that broke out at Sikotwa of Kapilvastu Municipality last night in course of celebrating the Deepawali.
The fire that sparked from an oil-fed clay lamp lit to observe the Laxmipooja engulfed the houses of locals Shibbad Raidas, Ram Bilas Raidas, Raju Raidas and Bhikhhu Raidas, sending them and their families running outside into the street.
The victims have lost their all belongings to the fire and are taking shelter in tents managed for them with the assistance of the Kapilvastu Municipality Office, police said.
They were provided tents, utensils and foodstuffs sufficient for a week, Municipality Office employee Jeebnath Pandey said. RSS
