KATHMANDU, Oct 24: The Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development has ordered four municipal authorities to make all the preparations to welcome Indian President Pranab Mukherjee, who is visiting Nepal for three days starting November 2.
Issuing a circular to municipality offices of Janakpur Sub-Metropolis, Pokhara Sub-Metropolis, Lumbini Cultural Municipality and Dhulikhel Municipality, the ministry on Sunday ordered them to leave no stone unturned in making preparations to welcome president in their respective towns.
During his three-day visit, the Indian president is scheduled to visit the four cities.
“President Mukherjee is expected to visit some religious, cultural, historic and tourist places located in these four municipalities during his state visit,” the statement released by the ministry said. “Municipalities have to make all necessary preparations for welcoming him by demonstrating cultural dances and civil felicitation.” The ministry has also asked the four municipalities to make the towns cleaner during the time.
