Similarly, Wakil Singh has been reassigned to Nepal Police Battalion-1, while Inspector Krishna Shrestha has been transferred to the Police Security Battalion.

Inspector Raju Adhikari, who earlier investigated the case of fake Bhutanese refugees, has been transferred to the CIB. Inspector Gajendra Rawal of Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office has also been transferred to the CIB. He is considered excellent in crime investigation and 'technical analysis'.

The Gold Smuggling Probe Commission submitted its report to Deputy Prime Minister and Home Affairs Minister Rabi Lamichhane on March 14. Upon the commission's recommendation, led by former judge Dilliraj Acharya, to take departmental action against CIB AIG Kiran Bajracharya, SP Sanjay Singh Thapa, DSP Rugam Kunwar, and Durga Dahal, all were transferred to the police headquarters.

Additionally, CIB sources revealed that the inspectors have been transferred due to recommendations indicating a need for rotation among those involved in investigations.

The Acharya-led commission probed the case of gold smuggling via vape and the smuggling of over 60 kg of gold through customs at the Tribhuvan International Airport on July 18, 2023. The report highlighted serious lapses by CIB personnel assigned to investigate the gold smuggling cases.
