Four children die in fire incident in Jumla

KARNALI, April 23: Four children have died in a fire that broke out in Jumla Kudari Sarkiwada village of Tila Municipality-3 last night.

KARNALI, April 23: Four children have died in a fire that broke out in Jumla Kudari Sarkiwada village of Tila Municipality-3 last night.



Two daughters, a son and a niece of Mansin Sarki have died in the fire. According to Jumla District Police Office, the deceased have been identified as 11-year-old Anu and 3-year-old Darshana, 1-year-old son Deepesh and 14-year-old niece Tirsana Sarki.

"We were informed about the fire at 11:45 pm," said Deputy Superintendent of Police Narendra Chand. He said that the second and third floors of the house were completely damaged due to the fire.


Mansin and his wife Fhaguni and sister Runchakali, who lost consciousness due to the fire, have been brought to Karnali Institute of Health Sciences for treatment. The bodies of the four deceased children were brought to the Institute for autopsy. Police said that an investigation is underway into the incident.
