BIRGUNJ, Dec 14: Co-chair of Madhesi People´s Rights Forum (MPRF) Jaya Prakash Prasad Gupta on Monday warned the Maoists to be ready for confrontations over the declaration of autonomous provinces by the Maoists in the Tarai.[break]

Accusing the Maoists of splitting the Tarai on a whim, Gupta said clashe may erupt with the Maoists at any time soon.

"Don´t go on splitting the Madhes into Kochila and Tharuwan," Gupta said, addressing a rally in Birgunj on Monday. "If you continue with it, be ready for battles at every nook and cranny in the Madhes."

While recalling the bloody clash in Lahan and Guar in the past, Gupta warned that such clashes may erupt at any time if the Maoists don´t stop declaring autonomous provinces and splitting the Tarai.

Gupta also vented anger at the NC and UML for not implementing "past agreements" reached with the Madhes-based parties, and said the NC and UML will be wiped out from the Tarai.

He also claimed that the third Madhes movement will sweep away the three largest political parties from the region. Gupta also called on the ruling Madhes-based parties to quit the government and join the third mass movement.

MPRF chairman Upendra Yadav said the importance of a new mass movement in the Tarai has become vital and called on the people to get ready for this. He warned that his party would unleash a "hurricane of a mass movement" that will compel the government to meet the demands of the Madhesis.

Yadav also accused NC President Girija Prasad Koirala of pushing the country into crisis due to his "attachment" to his daughter Sujata. He also said the government is launching anti-Madhes activities in the name of special security plan.
