The committee’s meeting on Thursday instructed the OPMCM to ask assistance with international community after formulating a standard on accepting aid for search, rescue, relief, resettlement and reconstruction.
Secretary at Ministry of Defense Ishwori Prasad Poduel holding the command of the Central Natural Disaster Relief Committee briefed the meeting on works of the committee and the ministry.
He informed that some 65,017 Nepal Army (NA) personnel have been deployed for rescue and NA choppers made 641 flights to quake-hit areas and rescued 4,974 people. Likewise, NA rescued 2,372 people alive, did treatment of 984 people and dig out 357 dead bodies.

According to him, armies from India (partial), Turkey, Malaysia and Pakistan retuned on May 5 after concluding search and rescue operations. Likewise, those from Poland, Israel, Thailand, Indonesia, India (remaining), Algeria and Sri Lanka returned home the next day.
During the meeting it was informed that Rs 6.7 million has been collected in the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund as of Wednesday, while Ministry of Finance has already released Rs 4 billion.
