KATHMANDU, March 11: Tirkha Bahadur Budhathoki, 44, of Jaimakasala, Sunchhahari Rural Municipality -5, Rolpa, who served in the Russian army, has died in the Russia-Ukraine war. He was the former ward chairman of Sunachhari Municipality-5, and had left for Russia in mid-October 2080.
After receiving the news of his death on March 8, his family started the funeral rites from Monday, according to his family source. In the 2074 local election, Budhathoki was elected as the ward chairman of Sunachhari-5 from the UML.

Budhathoki, who was killed in Russia, is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter. Since mid-February, Budhathoki’s family had not been in contact with him. According to family sources, a Nepali working in the Russian military informed them about his death.
