KATHMANDU, June 10: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari stated that she does not need to ask the CPN-UML when she travels to districts. Speaking to journalists this morning at Biratnagar Airport, Bhandari made this remark.
When a reporter asked why there is such a stir in Kathmandu whenever she visits the capital, Bhandari said that she had come in connection with a national-level program involving deputy mayors and vice-chairpersons of local bodies. She also mentioned that she does not need to seek permission from the UML committees or leaders to travel within the country.

Former President Bhandari said, “I have come to the eastern region in connection with two events. One was a national-level program for deputy mayors and vice-chairpersons of local bodies, and I came for that. The other was a science exhibition organized by high school students. I was also interested, so they invited me and I came. I have many acquaintances, and I also know people from various sectors of society.”
“I am committed to understanding the aspirations of the people. I do not need to seek permission from the UML committees or leaders to travel within the country,” she further said.
