KATHMANDU, June 10: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari stated that she does not need to ask the CPN-UML when she travels to districts. Speaking to journalists this morning at Biratnagar Airport, Bhandari made this remark.

When a reporter asked why there is such a stir in Kathmandu whenever she visits the capital, Bhandari said that she had come in connection with a national-level program involving deputy mayors and vice-chairpersons of local bodies. Former President Bhandari said, “I have come to the eastern region in connection with two events. One was a national-level program for deputy mayors and vice-chairpersons of local bodies, and I came for that. The other was a science exhibition organized by high school students. I was also interested, so they invited me and I came. I have many acquaintances, and I also know people from various sectors of society.”
