KATHMANDU, April 6: Foreign Secretary Bharat Raj Paudyal called on State Councilor and Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China Qin Gang at the latter’s office in Beijing on Thursday.
During the meeting, matters related to strengthening the longstanding bilateral relations and cooperation between Nepal and China, including the exchange of visits, development cooperation, trade, investment and tourism were discussed, according to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA). Foreign Secretary Paudyal is the first Nepali official to hold a meeting with the newly-appointed Chinese Foreign Minister Qin.

Ambassador of Nepal to China, Bishnu Pukar Shrestha, Joint Secretary at the MoFA Lok Bahadur Thapa, senior officials of the MoFA of both Nepal and China as well as officials from the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing were present on the occasion.
Foreign Secretary Paudyal reached Beijing on Wednesday leading the Nepali delegation to the 15th meeting of the Bilateral Diplomatic Consultation Mechanism between the foreign ministries of Nepal and China.
